This conversation was recorded in Kyiv on 13 February 2024, to mark the acquisition of three watercolours by Davyd Chychkan for the collection of the Ukrainian Museum of Contemporary Art (UMCA). On the anniversary of Davyd’s death, we remember him as he sought to remember others: as a person whose art, convictions and life choices were inseparable from one another. This interview is published as part of the tribute to him with the consent of Hanna Tsiba, Davyd Chychkan’s wife.
