Let those who call themselves ‘anti-militarists’ look at the consequences of their politics.

Last night, Kyiv once again came under a massive Russian attack. The death toll has already risen to more than 14 people — all of them civilians.

For weeks, Ukrainians have been warning about the critical shortage of ammunition for air defense systems. Military aid from Europe and the United States is now arriving only in limited quantities.

As a result, not a single ballistic missile fired at Kyiv during last night’s attack was intercepted.

• 0 out of 6 3M22 Zircon/Onyx missiles were intercepted.
• 0 out of 23 Iskander-M/S-400 missiles were intercepted.

We believe responsibility for these deaths lies not only with Trump and pro-Russian politicians in Europe, but also with those who, for years, have opposed supplying Ukraine with the means to defend itself while hiding behind a false notion of anti-militarism.

That position has helped cultivate indifference — and at times outright hostility — among parts of the Western left towards military aid for Ukraine.

There must be political, public, and moral accountability for these choices.
