We are preparing for our next humanitarian trip to the Kharkiv region.

We want to support two key initiatives: local women’s volunteer groups, which organise the weaving of camouflage nets in their communities, and dormitories where internally displaced persons are staying. We are organising the trip together with Freefilmers: we are checking requests, the route, and how we can best cover needs on the ground.

Grassroots volunteer initiatives usually rely not on large warehouses or stable funding, but on individual people, their daily work, connections, and their desire to help others even when they themselves lack resources. The women volunteer to knit camouflage nets, gather supplies, look after vulnerable people in their communities, and keep working. Our support, therefore, gives them the chance to continue their work without constantly becoming exhausted.

At the same time, in the dormitories where IDPs live, basic daily needs are becoming increasingly acute, especially now, as these places take in more and more people forced to leave their homes.

Among the requests we plan to cover with this trip:

• medical and care supplies;
• household items;
• small household appliances (electric kettles, electric hobs, microwaves);
• boilers, fridges and washing machines for dormitories;
• sewing supplies (sewing machine oil, tailors’ scissors);
• power tools;
• materials for camouflage nets.

We are launching a fundraising campaign to meet these needs and cover fuel and logistics costs for the trip.
